The Quiet Epidemic is an award-winning social impact documentary about the controversy surrounding Chronic Lyme disease. After years of mysterious symptoms, a young girl from Brooklyn and a Duke University scientist are diagnosed with Chronic Lyme disease which lands in the middle of a contentious medical debate. What begins as a patient story quickly evolves into an investigation. A cast of award-winning investigative journalists, university scientists and medical doctors reveal how Lyme disease has become one of the most controversial, fastest-growing illnesses of our time.

The Quiet Epidemic was co-directed by two filmmakers (Lindsay Keys & Winslow Crane-Murdoch) who met at their local Lyme doctor's office in 2015. In 2022, The Quiet Epidemic screened at more than 20 film festivals (Hot Docs Int'l Film Festival, Hamptons Int'l Film Festival, DOC NYC) and won three "Best Feature Documentary" awards. The film's festival circuit attracted the attention of the press, film critics and an indie documentary distributor, which brought the film to theaters across North America.

In 2023, The Quiet Epidemic premiered at #2 on AppleTV/iTunes documentary chart, which caught the attention of celebrities including Mark Ruffalo, Tommy Hilfiger, Thalía, Daryl Hall and others. The release generated a review in Variety by renowned film critic Owen Gleiberman: A Documentary About Chronic Lyme Disease Needs to Make the Case—and Does—That CLD Exists. The film currently has a 100% critic rating and 95% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Quiet Epidemic's impact team is now working with award-winning impact strategist and producer Bonnie Abaunza (Blood Diamond, Hotel Rwanda, Food Inc.). They are calling for a Congressional hearing regarding the state of Lyme diagnostics and therapeutics, which have not advanced in the 30 years since the last Congressional hearing, hosted by Senator Ted Kennedy in 1993. An ongoing grassroots screening tour continues to bring the film to public libraries, community centers and even medical schools (NYU School of Medicine, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, USC School of Public Health). Anyone can host a screening.

Pressure Release is a virtual writing community for anyone who craves accountability in their writing and/or journaling practice. Our goal is to establish a new relationship with writing—one that is easeful. You don’t have to be a “Writer”, as writing is for everyone. We meet for two hours each weekday and blocks vary to accommodate timezones.
